Little Shop of Horrors – The making of a man eating plant. (2004)

A project for the St. Croix Festival Theater, St. Croix Falls, WI.

Little Shop of Horrors PROJECT STATS:

  • Over 300 pounds of Polystyrene
  • 5 Gallons of Sculpt or Coat
  • 6 Gallons of paint
  • 140 yards of cheese cloth
  • Over 700 man-hours of work

POD ONE
Instead of a hand puppet sticking out of a hole in a table, which is typically used for POD1, I decided to design a radio controlled animatronic plant. This would allow more flexibility in choreography and look really bad-ass cool!

  • Bugs for Lunch at Osceola Public Library
  • POD 2 with neck covering and leaves.
  • POD 1 under construction. Showing neck vertebrae, servos, receiver and cabling.
  • POD 1 test neck.
